I generally detest labels. Usually, unless self-inflicted in an effort to establish one’s identity amidst a broader community, these tend to be the result of jumping to conclusions or misconceptions about someone based upon their appearance or behaviour without knowing the whole story.

Such is often the case with the word “slut”. I can remember this term being tossed about with impunity by others when I was in high-school, usually directed toward the girls with the biggest tits regardless of their actions (in fact, those who did not “put out” were more likely to be called this than those who did!). I knew that this was just kids being mean – their prejudice probably borne moreso out of jealousy than anything else – but, having had more than one female friend who was subjected to such verbal cruelty, I quickly learned to loathe the term.

Later in life, however, the word “slut” took on renewed meaning for me as I came to to acquaint myself with more and more women who embraced this label as part of their identity. These self-professed sluts – many of them bisexual – simply loved sex and weren’t afraid to say so. Rather than perceiving the term as derisive in nature, they took it on freely as an expression of their own sexual self-confidence. I soon grew to admire their openness and honesty, not to mention their wanton willingness to fuck, so much so that I began using “slut” myself as a term of endearment.

And so, you’ll forgive me for jumping to conclusions in calling April McKenzie a slut (and I mean it in a good way, of course), but it’s one of the first things that came to mind when I saw the photos & videos at her April Juggs website.
